Our story

Alderbourne operates at the intersection of business, energy, policy, media and public affairs, advising leaders who cannot separate their commercial strategy from the political environment around it.

The firm was founded on a simple observation. Organisations facing political risk are usually well served on legal and financial advice and badly served on the question of how a decision will be received, argued about and ultimately settled in public.

Alderbourne fills that gap with practitioners who have worked inside politics, media and industry, and who can move between a boardroom, a broadcast studio and a committee corridor without changing the argument.

How we work

Four principles we do not trade away.

Commercially grounded

Advice is measured against the commercial decision it is meant to support, not against activity.

Judgement over volume

We would rather say one accurate thing at the right moment than produce noise for its own sake.

Discretion

Much of the work is not visible. That is a feature of the practice, not a gap in the record.

Independence

We tell clients what we think, including when the answer is that the position cannot be defended.

Contact

Start with a conversation, not a brief.

An initial discussion is confidential and without obligation. If we are not the right firm, we will say so and suggest who is.
